Your new Frigidaire dishwasher is designed for efficient cleaning. Read this manual before use for optimal performance. It covers setup, operation, and care.

Getting Started:

  1. Load dishes, ensuring large items don't block spray arms and items are properly placed for drainage.
  2. Add appropriate household-grade dishwasher detergent to the dispenser.
  3. Add rinse aid if needed for better drying and spot prevention.
  4. Select desired CYCLE and OPTION.
  5. Run hot water faucet nearest the dishwasher until water is hot (approx. 120°F/49°C).
  6. Press START/CANCEL and close the door.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Food Soils Left on Dishes Incorrect cycle, improper loading, low water pressure, low water temp, hard water, old detergent, blocked spray arms, overloaded dishwasher, dirty glass trap. Choose longer cycle, check loading, check water pressure/temp, use water softener if needed, use fresh detergent, ensure spray arms move, don't overload, clean glass trap.
Dishes Not Dry Air Dry (no Max/Heat Dry selected), rinse aid dispenser empty, rinse aid setting too low, low incoming water temp, improper loading. Select Max/Heat Dry, fill rinse aid dispenser, increase rinse aid setting, ensure water temp is at least 120°F, check loading.
Glassware/Flatware Spotted or Cloudy Hard water, low water temp, overloading, improper loading, old detergent, empty rinse aid, incorrect detergent amount. Check water hardness, ensure proper water temp, avoid overloading/improper loading, use fresh detergent, fill rinse aid, use correct detergent amount.
Dishware Chipped Improper loading, overloading, delicate items not secured, items hitting other parts, fine china/crystal not hand-washed. Load with care, don't overload, place delicate items in top rack, secure items, move racks slowly, hand-wash fine china/crystal.
Vapor at Vent Spilled rinse aid. Wipe up spills with a damp cloth.
Dishware Stained or Discolored Tea/coffee stains, iron deposits, aluminum utensils, high acid foods, mixing stainless steel and silver. Hand wash stains, use water filter for iron, load properly, rinse high acid foods promptly, avoid mixing metals.
Water in Bottom of Tub (after cycle) Dishwasher not draining properly. See "Dishwasher Does Not Drain Properly".
Cycle Takes a Long Time Cycle automatically lengthened for temp/soil, delay option selected, lower temp options not chosen, soil-sensing cycles. Allow for temperature reaching, check delay option, select lower temp options, soil-sensing is normal.
Etching Too much detergent in soft water. Adjust detergent based on water hardness, lower water temp.
Detergent Left in Cups Old detergent, blocked spray, cycle not completed, items blocking dispenser. Use fresh detergent, ensure spray is not blocked, check cycle completion, ensure dispenser can open.
Dishwasher Leaks Door gasket issues, spilled rinse aid, not level, oversudsing. Check gasket, wipe spills, ensure level, use correct detergent.
Dishwasher Won't Run Circuit breaker tripped, fuse blown, water supply off, incorrect cycle, delay option active, START/CANCEL not pressed, door not latched. Check breaker/fuse, ensure water is on, set correct cycle, check delay option, press START/CANCEL, latch door.
Dishwasher Won't Fill Water supply off, overfill protector stuck. Turn on water supply, check overfill protector.
Dishwasher Does Not Drain Properly Food disposer not empty, knockout plug not removed, kinked drain hose, cycle paused, clogged glass trap. Empty disposer, remove knockout plug, check hose, ensure cycle complete, clean glass trap.
Dishwasher has an Odor Soiled dishes left too long, unit is new. Pre-rinse dishes, new unit smell is normal.
Stains on Tub Interior Tomato-based soil, no heat dry. Pre-rinse, use heat dry option.
Opening the door during cycle Door opened while running. Press START/CANCEL, close door immediately (within 10 mins to continue cycle).
Removing Spots and Film Hard water deposits. Run Normal Wash cycle with 2 cups of white vinegar in the bottom of the tub (no detergent, no metal utensils).
Normal Sounds You Will Hear Water fill, spray, draining, motor sounds, wash action switching. These are normal operating sounds.
