Warranty Information

A one year limited warranty covers defective parts and workmanship from the original date of purchase.

First Steps

Proper installation and initial setup are crucial for efficient operation. This includes selecting a suitable location near a grounded electrical outlet, ensuring adequate air circulation around the unit (3 inches on all sides), and leveling the appliance using the adjustable feet. For upright units, ensure the door closes properly by adjusting the leveling feet so they are slightly higher at the front. For chest units, shims may be needed. Ensure food packages do not extend past the front of shelves to allow proper door sealing.

Setting the Temperature Control

Allow 4 hours for the freezer to cool down completely before loading food. For safe food storage, load only 3 pounds of fresh food per cubic foot at a time. Different models have different temperature controls: Electromechanical controls are typically inside (upright) or on the exterior (chest), while electronic controls are external on upright frost-free models. Adjustments are made by turning a knob or using +/- buttons. Allow several hours for temperature stabilization after adjustments.

Optional Features

Explore features like Quick Freeze, Control Lock, Power Off, Power Fail alerts, Door Ajar alerts, and Sabbath Mode. Other features include a Soft Freeze Zone, Pizza Shelf, Mid-Level Basket, Basket Divider, Adjustable Shelves, Slide-Aside Baskets, Fast Freezing Shelves, and Adjustable Door Bins, depending on your model.

External temperature is too warm. The external walls can be as much as 30°F warmer than room temperature. This is normal while the compressor works to transfer heat from inside the cabinet.
SOUND AND NOISE
Louder sound levels when appliance is on.
  • Modern appliances have increased storage capacity and more stable temperatures. They require a high efficiency compressor.
This is normal. When the surrounding noise is low, you might hear the compressor running while it cools the interior.
