Cooktop Installation Summary:
Preparation: Read all instructions. Remove packing material. Ensure proper electrical supply (240/208 Volt, 60 Hertz, AC only, 40A or 50A circuit breaker/fuse). Check local codes and ordinances.
Cutout Dimensions: Refer to Figure 1 and the table for specific model dimensions (30" and 36"). Ensure minimum clearances from overhead and adjacent cabinetry (30" minimum for unprotected, 24" for protected).
Electrical Connection: Install a junction box. Connect the flexible armored cable from the cooktop to the junction box using appropriate connectors and strain relief. Ensure proper grounding. Follow wiring diagrams for 3-wire or 4-wire connections based on your home's system (Figures 4-7). WARNING: Shut off power before making connections.
Cooktop Placement: Set the cooktop into the countertop cutout. Ensure it is centered using the built-in springs. Do not use caulking. Install retainer brackets at least 1/8" below the countertop.
Granite Countertop Installation: Use heat-proof silicone and specific installation steps as outlined.
Checking Operation: Refer to the Owner's Guide. Caution: Cooktop glass and elements may be hot.
