Troubleshooting and error codes

OCCURRENCE POSSIBLE CAUSE/SOLUTION
Range is not level. Poor installation. Adjust leveling legs at base of range. Ensure cabinets are square and provide adequate clearance.
Cannot move appliance easily. Appliance must be accessible for service. Weak, unstable floor. Check for cabinet misalignment. Contact builder/installer. Ensure carpet does not interfere.
Entire range or oven does not operate. Check cord/plug connection. Ensure service wiring is complete. Check for electrical power outage.
Oven control beeps and displays any F code error (ex.: F10) Electronic control detected a fault. Press CANCEL to clear and reprogram. If recurring, record fault number and call authorized servicer.
Oven light does not work. Replace or tighten bulb. Check for electrical power outage.
Surface unit does not heat. Check control setting. Ensure correct control is ON. Check for power outage.
Surface burners do not light. Ensure surface control knob is turned to LITE. Check if burner ports are clogged. Ensure gas supply is on.
Surface burner flame burns half way around. Burner ports or slots may be clogged. Clean with a small-gauge wire or needle.
Surface burner flame is orange. Moisture may be present. Lightly fan the flame until full. Dust particles or salt air may also cause this.
Metalmarks. Sliding or scraping of metal utensils. Use ceramic-glass cooktop cleaning cream.
Scratches or abrasions on cooktop surface. Coarse particles between cooktop and utensils. Ensure surfaces are clean. Small scratches are normal.
Brown streaks or specks. Boilovers cooked onto surface. Use razor blade scraper. See "Cooktop Cleaning" section.
Areas of discoloration with metallic sheen. Mineral deposits. Remove with ceramic-glass cooktop cleaning cream.
Poor baking results. Check rack position, pan spacing, oven preheating, temperature adjustments.
Fan noise during cooking operation. Normal operation for cooling fan.
Flames inside oven or smoking from vent. Excessive spillovers in oven. Set self-clean cycle for longer duration. Wipe up spillovers before self-cleaning.
Oven smokes excessively during broiling. Ensure controls are set properly. Open door to Broil Stop Position. Meat not too close to element. Check broiler pan grid placement. Regular cleaning needed.
Self-cleaning cycle does not work. Controls not set properly. Cycle time may be too short. Ensure door is closed properly.
Soil not completely removed after self-cleaning cycle. Areas outside self-cleaning zone may need manual cleaning. Set cycle for longer duration.
