Troubleshooting and error codes

Faults Possible Causes Remedies See Page
1. The shutter won't trip. You finished exposing the entire roll of film, and it has wound back into its cartridge. Check the Exposure Counter to make sure it has returned to "T" then unload the film. 18
2. The stripes in the Film Wind/Rewind Confirmation Window won't move. You didn't load film in the camera, or you loaded it incorrectly. Check the camera and load the film correctly. 16
3. The stripes in the Film Wind/Rewind Confirmation Window move slower than usual and the Flash Charging Indicator Lamp takes a long time to turn off. The batteries are nearly exhausted. Take the camera to your camera shop or Fuji Distributor to have the batteries replaced. 15
4. The film wound back into its cartridge by itself in mid-roll You didn't load the film correctly. Load the film correctly the next time. 16
5. The film doesn't wind back into its cartridge. After exposing the last frame, you'll have to trip the Shutter one or two times more before the film will start winding back. After exposing the last frame, cover the lens with your hand and trip the shutter one or two times more so that the auto-wind mechanisms can take over. 18
1. The picture looks fuzzy. You didn't bring your subject in the center of the Viewfinder. Always bring your subject in the center of the Viewfinder. 17
Your subject was too close to the camera Shoot from a distance of 12 meters or more away from your subject. 17
The Lens is dusty. Keep your lens clean. 19
You shook the camera when you tripped the shutter. Hold the camera still until you trip the shutter. 17
2. The picture looks dark. You took your picture against the light. Use the flash as fill-in light. 18
You didn't use the flash correctly. First, press the Shutter Release about halfway down. If the red lamp (Underexposure Warning Lamp) turns on, turn on the Flash Switch then press down the Shutter Release about halfway down once again. If the red light turns on, wait until it doesn't turn on any more before tripping the shutter. 18
Your subject was beyond the range of the camera's flash. Use a fast film and shoot within the flash's covering range. 17
The Film Speed Selector was set for a faster film than the one you used. Set the Film Speed Selector to match the speed of the film you are using. 16
3. The last picture took was not printed. Photofinishing conditions sometimes do not permit accommodating more than the prescribed number of frames per roll. Do not try to squeeze an extra picture into your film, especially if it is an important one. 18
