Turning the Camera on in Playback Mode: When the camera is off, playback can be started by pressing the playback button for about a second.

Taking Pictures During Playback: To return instantly to shooting mode, press the shutter button halfway.

Deleting Pictures: To delete a picture, display it full frame and press the selector up.

Silent Mode: Press and hold the DISP/BACK button to disable camera lights and sounds.

Charging the Battery: Place the NP-50A rechargeable battery into the supplied charger, ensuring correct orientation. Plug the charger into an indoor power outlet. The charging indicator will light. Unplug the charger when not in use.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Warning Description
FRAME NO. FULL The camera has run out of frame numbers (current frame number is 999-9999). Format the memory card and select RENEW for FRAME NO. Take a picture to reset frame numbering to 100-0001, then select CONTINUOUS for FRAME NO. (101).
PRESS AND HOLD THE DISP BUTTON TO DEACTIVATE SILENT MODE An attempt was made to choose a flash mode or adjust the volume with the camera in silent mode. Exit silent mode before choosing a flash mode or adjusting the volume (99).
TOO MANY FRAMES • A search has returned more than 30,000 results: Choose a search that returns fewer results.
• More than 999 images are selected for deletion: Choose fewer images.
PROTECTED FRAME An attempt was made to delete, rotate, or add a voice memo to a protected picture. Remove protection and try again (93).
640 CAN NOT CROP 60 pictures can not be cropped.
CAN NOT CROP The picture is damaged or was not created with the camera.
M CANNOT EXECUTE An attempt was made to create a resized copy at a size equal to or larger than the original. Choose a smaller size.
S CANNOT EXECUTE An attempt was made to create a resized copy at a size equal to or larger than the original. Choose a smaller size.
640 CANNOT EXECUTE An attempt was made to create a resized copy at a size equal to or larger than the original. Choose a smaller size.
CAN NOT ROTATE An attempt was made to rotate a picture that can not be rotated.
CAN NOT ROTATE Movies can not be rotated.
CANNOT EXECUTE Red-eye removal can not be applied to the selected picture.
CANNOT EXECUTE Red-eye removal can not be applied to movies.
NO CARD No memory card inserted when COM COPY is selected. Insert a memory card.
SD NO IMAGE The source selected for COP COPY contains no images. Select a different source.
IN NO IMAGE • The voice memo file is corrupt: The voice memo can not be played back.
ERROR • Camera malfunction: Contact a FUJIFILM dealer.
DPOF FILE ERROR The DPOF print order on the current memory card contains more than 999 images. Copy the pictures to internal memory and create a new print order.
CAN NOT SET DPOF The picture can not be printed using DPOF.
CAN NOT SET DPOF Movies can not be printed using DPOF.
COMMUNICATION ERROR A connection error occurred while pictures were being printed or copied to a computer or other device. Confirm that the device is turned on and that the USB cable is connected.
PRINTER ERROR Printer out of paper or ink, or other printer error. Check printer (see printer manual for details). To resume printing, turn the printer off and then turn it back on.

CANNOT BE PRINTED An attempt was made to print a movie, a picture not created with the camera, or a picture in a format not supported by the printer. Movies and some pictures created with other devices can not be printed; if the picture is a still picture created with the camera, check the printer manual to confirm that the printer supports the JFIF-JPEG or Exif-JPEG format. If it does not, the pictures can not be printed.
