Basic Operation

Charging the Battery

  1. Place the rechargeable battery into the charger, ensuring correct orientation.
  2. Plug the charger into a power outlet. The charging indicator will light.
    • Off: Battery not inserted
    • On (yellow): Battery charging
    • On (green): Battery fully charged
    • Blinks (yellow): Battery fault
  3. Remove the battery when charging is complete.

Inserting the Battery

  1. Open the battery-chamber cover.
  2. Insert the battery with terminals first, aligning the orange stripe with the orange battery latch. Slide the battery in, keeping the latch pressed.
  3. Close the battery-chamber cover.

Inserting a Memory Card

If no memory card is inserted, internal memory is used. Periodically transfer images from internal memory to a computer.

SD and SDHC memory cards are compatible. Ensure the write-protect switch is unlocked before inserting.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Warning Description Solution
CARD ERROR The memory card is not formatted for use in the camera. Format the memory card (pg. 75).
The memory card contacts require cleaning or the memory card is damaged. Clean the contacts with a soft, dry cloth. If the message is repeated, format the memory card (pg. 75). If the message persists, replace the memory card.
Incompatible memory card. Use a compatible memory card.
Camera malfunction. Contact a FUJIFILM dealer.
SD MEMORY FULL The memory card or internal memory is full; pictures can not be recorded or copied. Delete pictures or insert a memory card with more free space.
IN MEMORY FULL INSERT A NEW CARD Not enough memory remaining to record additional pictures. Delete pictures or insert a memory card with more free space.
WRITE ERROR The memory card or internal memory is not formatted. Format the memory card or internal memory (pg. 75).
Memory card error or connection error. Re-insert the memory card or turn the camera off and then on again. If the message persists, contact a FUJIFILM dealer.
READ ERROR The file is corrupt or was not created with the camera. The file can not be played back.
