Getting Started
Install a memory card and connect the device to vehicle power. Mount the device on your windshield. Pair the device with your smartphone using the Garmin Drive app.
Dash Cam Recording
The dash cam records video automatically when powered on. You can save recordings manually or they are saved automatically during events. Audio recording can be turned on or off.
Viewing and Managing Footage
View, trim, and export videos and photos using the Garmin Drive app. Connect the camera to a computer to transfer files.
Settings and Updates
Configure settings via the Garmin Drive app. Update device software using the Garmin Drive app or Garmin Express.
Troubleshooting
Addresses common issues like a warm device, memory card errors, blurry recordings, and choppy footage.
Troubleshooting and error codes

| My camera feels warm while it is operating | It is normal for the camera to feel warm during typical use, especially while it is recording high-resolution video or transmitting a Wi-Fi signal. |
| My memory card has degraded and needs to be replaced | Format the memory card at least once every six months. If a memory card error alert is displayed, try formatting the card, then replace if necessary. Use a higher capacity or higher quality memory card (Class 10 or higher). |
| My video recordings are blurry | Clean the camera lens and the windshield in front of the camera. Ensure the windshield area is cleared by wipers. |
| My video recordings are choppy or incomplete | Use a high-quality memory card (Class 10 or higher). If viewing on smartphone, try in an area with less interference or transfer videos. Transfer important recordings and format the memory card. Update device software. |
