| Problem | Possible Causes | What To Do |
|---|---|---|
| Air conditioner does not start | Unplugged. Fuse blown/breaker tripped. Power failure. | Ensure plug is fully inserted. Check/reset fuse or breaker. Turn off during power failure, wait 3 mins after restoration. |
| Air conditioner does not cool as it should | Airflow restricted. Temp control not set correctly. Dirty air filter. Room was hot. Cold air escaping. Cooling coils iced up. | Remove obstructions. Adjust temp control (COOL mode, press DECREASE ▼; knob models, turn to higher number). Clean filter. Allow time for cooling. Check vents. Close vent. See "Air conditioner freezing up". |
| Air conditioner freezing up | Ice blocks airflow and stops cooling. | Knob models: set mode to HIGH FAN/HIGH COOL, temp to 1 or 2. Touch pad models: set HIGH FAN/HIGH COOL, higher temp. |
| The remote control is not working | Batteries inserted incorrectly. Batteries dead. | Check battery orientation (+/-). Replace batteries. |
| Water drips outside | Hot, humid weather. | Normal. |
| Water drips indoors | Air conditioner not tilted to the outside. | Ensure unit slants slightly from front to rear for proper drainage. |
