Telephone Basics

  • Receiving a Phone Call: Lift the handset or press the speaker button, then replace the handset or press speaker to hang up.
  • Making a Phone Call: Lift the handset or press speaker, dial the number, then replace the handset or press speaker to hang up.
  • Adjusting Volume: Use VOL +/- buttons for handset receiver or speakerphone volume.
  • Mute: Press the mute button to interrupt phone conversations.
  • Redial: Press the redial button to call the last number dialed.
  • Dialing Mode: Press MENU then VOL +/- to switch between TONE and PULSE dialing modes.

Caller ID (CID) Features

  • Receiving and Storing CID Calls: The unit stores up to 75 calls for review. REPT indicates calls received more than 30 days ago.
  • Reviewing CID Records: Use UP/DOWN arrows to scroll through call records.
  • Deleting CID Records: Press and hold the DELETE button for three seconds to delete a record.
  • Storing a Name and Number in Memory: Use MENU to access memory functions, then follow on-screen prompts to store names and numbers.
  • Storing a Pause in Memory: Use the PAUSE button when storing numbers.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No Dial Tone Check all cabling. Ensure phone line is properly connected.
Switch is set to PULSE DIAL. Set T/P DIAL MODE to TONE DIAL.
Tone quality is poor or garbled. Excessive phone line noise. Disconnect other phone equipment.
Interference from other electronic devices. Move phone away from other appliances.
Call Waiting tone is not heard. Not subscribed to Call Waiting service. Contact your local telephone company.
Caller ID information is not displayed. Not subscribed to Caller ID service. Contact your local telephone company.
Improper Caller ID transmission from phone company. Contact your local telephone company.
Numbers do not store in memory. Memory location already in use or incorrect key pressed. Try a different memory location or re-enter the number.
Phone drops when additional phones are used. Phone line is overloaded. Disconnect other phones one at a time.
