Surface Cooking

To set controls, push knob in and turn to desired heat setting (HI, MED HI, MED, LOW, WM). Indicator light shows when any unit is on. Always turn to OFF when finished.

Automatic 3-in-1 Surface Unit (Model JP661 only)

Use the selector knob to choose unit size (8", 6", or 4"). Then select heat setting as recommended. Use a timer. Turn to OFF when finished.

Griddle (Model JP661 only)

Place griddle on unit, turn selector knob to GRIDDLE. Select heat setting between 200°-500°F. Turn to OFF when finished. Clean according to Care and Cleaning section.

Troubleshooting and error codes

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE AND REMEDY
SURFACE UNITS DO NOT WORK PROPERLY • Check main distribution panel for blown fuses or tripped breakers. Reset breakers or replace fuses (by qualified personnel). If fuse blows or breaker trips again, call for service. (Apartment tenants: contact management.)
• Drip pans not set securely.
• Surface unit controls not set properly or wrong control used.
• Plug-in surface units (JP661) not plugged in solidly.
GRIDDLE DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY (MODEL JP661 ONLY) • Griddle not seated properly on the automatic surface unit.
• Automatic unit selector knob not turned to GRIDDLE.
FOODS STICK TO GRIDDLE (MODEL JP661 ONLY) • Non-stick coating may be damaged by sharp instruments or abrasive cleaners.
