Introduction to GE Zenith Transfer Switches

GE Zenith Transfer Switches are designed to provide a continuous power source for lighting and other critical loads by automatically transferring from a primary power source (Source 1) to a secondary power source (Source 2) when the primary source voltage falls below preset limits.

System Control

The system utilizes a state-of-the-art microcontroller located on the cabinet door for accurate voltage sensing and system control.

Application

These transfer switches are suitable for emergency or standby systems and are rated for total system or motor loads.

Certifications

Transfer switches are UL Listed under Standard 1008, CSA Certified under Standard C22.2 No. 178, and IEC Listed under Standard 947.

Safety Note

A protective device, such as a molded case circuit breaker or fused disconnect switch, MUST be installed on both incoming power sources for circuit protection and disconnection.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem/Symptom Possible Cause Remedy
Transfer Switch does not transfer to Source 2 Source 1 voltage below fail setting Verify Source 1 voltage.
Generator does not start Incorrect engine start connections Verify engine start wiring.
Source 1 Available LED does not illuminate Source 1 voltage below restore value Verify Source 1 voltage is above preset restore value.
Source 2 Available LED does not illuminate Voltage and frequency not at preset levels Verify Source 2 voltage and frequency.
Controller malfunction Refer to troubleshooting section for Entelli-Switch 250 controller Refer to manual for specific controller troubleshooting steps.
