Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Causes What To Do
Filter light remains on after filter replacement Filter indicator needs to be reset. For LCD Models: Select SETTINGS > WATER FILTER > RESET. For Non-LCD Models: Press and hold the Reset Filter button for 3 seconds.
Water filter indicator light is not illuminated Filter indicator needs to be reset. Follow reset procedures as above.
Lever handle is loose/has a gap Handle needs adjustment. Adjust handle as described in "How to Adjust Fresh Food Door Handles" section.
Refrigerator beeping Door alarm is active. Silence or deactivate the alarm with the door closed.
Not cooling Consult Controls section. N/A
Water has bad taste/odor* Dispenser not used for a prolonged time or system was drained. Dispense water until the system is replenished. Wait 24 hours for refrigerator to cool.
Water in glass is warm* Dispenser not used for a prolonged time or system was drained. Dispense water until the system is replenished. Wait for supply to cool.
Water dispenser not working* Water supply is off or not connected. Consult "How to Install Water Supply".
Water filter is stuck or bypass plug not installed Replace filter or install bypass plug. N/A
Possible air trapped in water system Press dispenser arm for at least 5 minutes. N/A
Water in reservoir is frozen Refrigerator controls set too cold. Set controls to a warmer setting and wait 24 hours. Contact service if issue persists.
Cartridge was recently installed Run dispenser for 5 minutes (approx. 2 gallons). N/A
No water or ice production Water supply line or shut-off valve is blocked. Call a plumber.
Water filter is blocked Replace filter or install bypass plug. N/A
