1. First Things First:

  • Unpack the TV and remote control.
  • Connect your TV to an antenna, cable box, or VCR.
  • Plug in the TV, ensuring the wide blade of the plug is in the wide slot of the outlet.
  • Insert two AAA batteries into the remote control.
  • Turn on the TV by pressing the POWER button on the remote.

2. Using the Menu System:

  • The basic rule is "Point and Select."
  • Point to a menu item using the MOVE arrows (CHAN/VOL buttons) on the remote.
  • Select an item by pressing MENU.

3. Interactive Setup:

  • Press MENU to bring up the Main menu.
  • Navigate to "Setup" and press MENU.
  • Select your preferred language.
  • The TV will prompt you to search for channels.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Solution
TV WILL NOT TURN ON OR CONTROLS DON'T WORK
  • Check if it is plugged in.
  • Check wall receptacle (or extension cord).
  • Unplug for two minutes, then plug back in and turn on.
PROBLEMS WITH REMOTE
  • Ensure clear line of sight to the remote sensor.
  • Aim remote directly at the TV's sensor.
  • Replace batteries if weak, dead, or installed incorrectly.
  • Remove batteries and hold buttons for several seconds, then reinstall and try again.
TURNS ON OR OFF WHILE PLAYING
  • Schedule function may have been activated.
  • Electronic protection circuit may have activated due to a power surge. Wait 30 seconds and try again. If frequent, check house voltage.
SCHEDULE DOES NOT TURN OFF THE TV AT THE SET TIME
  • Check if the schedule on/off function is set to "On".
  • Ensure the clock is set to the correct time.
BLANK SCREEN OR BLACK BOX APPEARS ON THE SCREEN
  • Try another channel.
  • Press RESET to restore picture controls.
  • Check if Captioning is turned on (Closed-Caption Display control panel).
NO SOUND, PICTURE OKAY
  • Sound may be muted. Press volume up button.
NO PICTURE, NO SOUND BUT POWER LIGHT IS ON
  • Cable/air function might be in the wrong position.
  • A vacant channel might be tuned.
  • If watching VCR, ensure TV is tuned to CH3 or CH4 and VCR switch is correct.
SOUND OKAY, PICTURE POOR
  • Check antenna connections.
  • Adjust sharpness function for weak signals.
