Getting Started

  1. Unpack TV and accessories: Lay out all provided items.
  2. Place batteries in remote: Open the battery cover, insert two "AAA" batteries, and replace the cover.
  3. Connect antenna or cable-TV system: Connect your signal source to the TV's antenna input. Refer to specific pages for home antenna or cable-TV connection details.
  4. Attach power cord: Connect the power cord to the TV and then to a wall outlet.
  5. Turn on TV and place channels in memory: Press the POWER button. The TV will automatically scan for active channels and store them in memory.
  6. Edit channel memory: Use the MENU button to access SETUP, then EDIT CHANNELS to add or erase channels.
  7. Set the clock: Access the SETUP menu, select CLOCK, and use the +/- buttons to set the correct hour and minutes.

Controlling Your TV

Troubleshooting and error codes

TV TroubleChecks and Adjustments
TV will not turn on • Check plug connection.
• Check wall receptacle.
• Batteries in remote may be dead; use TV POWER button.
• Ensure remote is aimed at sensor.
• Ensure power cord is fully inserted.
Controls don't work • Unplug set for 2 minutes, then plug back in.
• Ensure power cord is fully inserted.
Intermittent or no remote • Check for obstructions between remote and sensor.
• Batteries may be weak or dead; replace them.
• Batteries may be installed incorrectly; reinstall correctly.
• Remove batteries, press buttons, then reinstall.
Turns off while playing • Sleep Timer may be activated.
• Alarm timer may have turned TV on; it will turn off after 1 hour.
• Electronic protection circuit may have activated; wait 30 seconds.
• Ensure power cord is fully inserted.
Turns on unexpectedly • Alarm function may be set.
Blank screen • Try another channel.
No sound, picture okay • Sound may be muted; press VOL UP.
• Headphones may be connected, muting TV speakers.
Can't select certain channel • Channel may not be in memory; use number buttons.
• For cable channels over 99, press and hold '1' then other two numbers.
• For VCR, ensure TV/VCR switch is correct.
No picture, no sound • Check antenna connections.
• Adjust SHARPNESS for weak signals.
Sound okay, picture poor • Try another channel.
Picture okay, sound poor • Unplug set for 15 minutes, then turn on.
• Place set in viewing position before plugging in.
Improper color in one or more areas of the picture during AC operation. • Make sure cord is firmly attached to both socket and TV back.
• Check fuse in DC car cord.
• Check if cigarette lighter works.
DC power car cord doesn't work (set will not operate with DC cord but will with AC cord) • Make sure cord is firmly attached to both cigarette lighter socket and back of TV.
• Check fuse in DC car cord. You may need to replace the fuse.
• Check to see if cigarette lighter works.
