Starting the Mower:

  • Ensure the area is clear of debris and people.
  • Check engine oil and fuel levels.
  • Stand behind the mower.
  • To start (recoil starter): Hold the blade control, then slowly pull the recoil starter rope until resistance is felt, then pull rapidly.
  • To start (electric start, if equipped): Insert the key and press the start button.

Operating the Mower:

  • Depress and squeeze the blade control to engage the blade and engine.
  • Engage the drive control (bail, single lever, dual lever, or premium) to propel the mower.
  • Adjust cutting height as needed.
  • Mow across slopes, not up and down.
  • Be aware of surroundings, especially children and pets.

Stopping the Mower:

  • Release the blade control to stop the engine and blade.
  • Release the drive control to stop propulsion.

Maintenance:

  • Regularly clean the mower deck and engine.
  • Inspect and maintain blades, belts, and wheels.
  • Refer to the manual for detailed lubrication, cleaning, and service instructions.

Troubleshooting and error codes
