COOKTOP SAFETY
Your safety and the safety of others are very important. Always read and obey all safety messages. The safety alert symbol warns of potential hazards. DANGER indicates immediate severe injury or death risk. WARNING indicates injury or death risk if instructions are not followed. Always follow safety instructions to reduce injury risk.
IF YOU SMELL GAS: Do not light any appliance, touch electrical switches, or use phones. Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor's phone or the fire department. Installation and service must be by a qualified professional.
ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
WARNING: Electrical Shock Hazard. Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet. Do not remove ground prong. Do not use an adapter or extension cord. Requires a 120-volt, 60 Hz, AC only, 15-amp fused electrical circuit. A time-delay fuse or circuit breaker is recommended. A separate circuit for this cooktop is recommended. Ensure proper grounding and polarity. See Wiring Diagram section.
GAS SUPPLY REQUIREMENTS
WARNING: Explosion Hazard. Use a new CSA International approved gas supply line. Install a shut-off valve. Securely tighten all gas connections. For LP gas, ensure pressure does not exceed 14" (36 cm) water column. Failure to comply can result in death, explosion, or fire. Installation must conform to local codes and standards (e.g., National Fuel Gas Code ANSI Z223.1 or CAN/CGA B149). Leak testing is required.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Two or more people are needed for installation due to weight. Ensure proper clearances, especially for cabinets above the cooktop to avoid fire risk. Seal all wall/floor openings. Grounded electrical supply and proper gas connection are required. Cabinet dimensions must be followed. Special requirements apply for mobile homes.
Preparing the Cooktop: Place upside down on a covered surface. Apply foam strip around the bottom edge for protection. Install clamping brackets if applicable (Style 2).
Installing the Cooktop: Place into cutout. Ensure front edge is parallel to countertop. Use clamping screws to secure cooktop to countertop if using brackets. Do not overtighten.
Making Gas Connection: Use a new CSA International approved gas supply line with a shut-off valve. Securely tighten connections. Use appropriate pipe-joint compound. Test for leaks with leak-detection solution. Do not use TEFLON tape. Install the pressure regulator, ensuring the arrow points up.
Complete Installation: Check gas flame height. Adjust if necessary using the adjustment screw on the valve stem. Ensure low flame is steady and blue, about 1/4" (0.64 cm) high. Test burners from low to high. Check ignition system.
