Getting Started

Step 1: Installing the SIM card

  • Choose the correct SIM card (mini, micro, or nano) and insert it into the SIM card slot.
  • Connect the power adapter to the router. The router will turn on automatically and search for available mobile networks.

Indicators:

  • Network status indicator: Cyan/blue/yellow: Connected to an LTE/3G/2G network.
  • Signal strength indicator: White: More signal bars indicate a stronger signal.

Step 2: Connecting to your router's Wi-Fi network

  • Once the router has connected to a mobile data network, connect your computer or mobile phone to the router's Wi-Fi network.
  • Refer to the label on the bottom of the router for the default Wi-Fi network name and password.

Managing your router

  • Manage the router using the web-based management page or the HUAWEI SmartHome App.
  • Ensure you change the default login password.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Solution
How do I restore factory settings? Press the Reset button for approximately 3 seconds until the Power indicator starts to blink.
Forgot Wi-Fi password or web-based management login password? Restore router to factory settings, then use the default Wi-Fi password and login password.
Network status indicator is red or no Internet connection? 1. Check SIM card insertion. 2. Restore to factory settings. 3. Contact carrier to check SIM status.
Slow internet speed? 1. Check signal strength indicator and adjust router position. 2. Adjust device position if connected via Wi-Fi. 3. Restart router and device. 4. Check monthly data traffic limit.
Connect via WPS? Press and hold WPS button for 2 seconds, then enable WPS on device within 2 minutes.
Cannot access web-based management page? 1. Ensure connection via Ethernet or Wi-Fi. 2. Ensure automatic IP and DNS settings. 3. Restart browser or try another. 4. Restore to factory settings.
Web-based management page content not up to date? Clear browser cache and refresh the page.
