Camera Settings

Press the POWER/MODE button until you see the SET icon. Press the SHUTTER button to enter settings mode. When in SET mode, press the POWER/MODE button to cycle through these options.

DEFAULT MODE SETTING UPON POWER ON

You can program your camera to power on in Video mode, Photo mode, Burst mode, or Photo Every 2 Seconds mode. F = Video mode (F = Filming) P = Photo mode 3 = Burst mode PES = Photo Every 2 Seconds mode. Press the SHUTTER button to cycle through choices; then press the POWER/MODE button to save the selection and proceed to the next.

FREQUENCY SETTING

This setting can affect the quality of photos taken indoors if it does not match the local electrical frequency. For North America, Central America, and South America, set the frequency to 60 Hz. For Europe, Japan, Oceania, and Asia, please set the frequency to 50 Hz. Press the SHUTTER button to cycle through choices; then press the POWER/MODE button to save the selection and proceed to the next.

VIDEO AUDIO VOLUME SETTING

HI - This setting for loud video audio is the default setting for recording video in situations with little or no vibration. Select this setting when you want the audio to be as loud as possible. LO - This setting for quiet video audio is good for video recording in situations with heavy vibration when the camera is mounted to a handlebar, bicycle, motorcycle, or car. Heavy vibration can overload the microphone when set to HI. If you hear the audio distort when filming video on HI, try the LO setting for better audio performance.

CHOICE OF RECORDING INTERVAL - PHOTO EVERY 2 OR 5 SECONDS

You can program your camera to take a picture every 2 or every 5 seconds when you are in Photo Every X Seconds mode. When you see P2 (Photo Every 2 Seconds) in the SET menu of choices, you can switch to the P5 (Photo Every 5 Seconds) selection by pressing the shutter button.

VIDEO RECORDING UPSIDE DOWN

UP - This is the standard mode for filming videos, keeping the camera right side up. UPd - At times it may be easier to hold the camera upside down for certain video angles. In UPd mode, the video will record "upside down" on the camera so it appears right side up when played back on your computer. Alternatively, you can film in UP mode and then invert the video later using video editing software (not included).

NTSC/PAL SETTING

This controls the video output of the camera for viewing images on a television. Select NTSC for a television in North America. Select PAL for televisions outside North America or in any region if it is a PAL type unit. Press the SHUTTER button to cycle through choices; then press the POWER/MODE button to save the selection and proceed to the next.

AUTO POWER OFF SETTING

You can program the camera to automatically turn off after 60, 120, 300 seconds, or set it to OFF to manually turn the device off. Press the SHUTTER button to cycle through choices 60, 120, 300, and OFF (turn auto power off off), then press the POWER/MODE button to save the selection and proceed to the next.

ESC

Press the shutter button when you see the ESC icon to exit SETTINGS MODE and return to PHOTO MODE.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Solution
Short recording time The battery power is low, so the camera automatically saves the recording before the battery dies.
Low battery warning When the battery voltage is low, the LCD will blink for 5 seconds, and the camera will automatically turn off. Use Lithium AAA batteries or rechargeable NiMH batteries for optimal battery life. For cold weather, use Lithium or NiMH AAA batteries as they maintain their charge and performance in cold temperatures. Other battery types will lose charge rapidly and perform poorly in cold weather.
