Playing a CD

Press the PLAY/PAUSE ▷/II button to play your CD. Press the PLAY/PAUSE/II button while a CD is playing to pause the CD. Press the PLAY/PAUSE/II button again to resume playing the CD. Press the STOP/BAND button to stop playing your CD.

MODE/REMAIN feature

Press the MODE/REMAIN button once on the unit when a CD is playing to see how long is left on the CD. Press the MODE/REMAIN button a second time to display the current time. Press the MODE/REMAIN button a third time to display the timer. Press the MODE/REMAIN button a fourth time to go back to the normal display.

RANDOM feature

Press the RANDOM button on the remote control when your unit is in random mode to play the CD in random order. It will automatically skip tracks when you press the skip button.

Using headphones

Plug your headphones (not supplied) into the PHONES socket on the front of the unit. Sound will automatically be cut off from the speakers.

Connecting external sources

You can connect external sources such as a DVD player to your hi-fi. Use the AUX sockets on the back of the hi-fi to make the necessary connections. Press the AUX button on the unit to access the external source.

Presetting radio stations

Find the radio station that you want to make a preset station. • Press the MEMO/C.ADJ button on the unit. • Press the REPEAT/M-UP button on the remote control continually to select which preset number the station will be set to. • Press the MEMO/C.ADJ button to confirm your choice. • Repeat the process presetting other stations. You can preset 10 stations on FM and 10 stations on MW wavebands. • To listen to your preset station, press the STOP/BAND button to select the waveband and then the REPEAT/M-UP button until you reach the correct preset number.

Setting the sleep timer

Use the sleep timer to turn your system off after a set amount of minutes. Play a CD or set a radio station. Press the SLEEP button continuously to choose between 10 and 90 minutes (in ten minute intervals). If you set sleep for 50 minutes, your system will turn itself off after 50 minutes.

Setting the snooze feature

Use the snooze feature to turn off the unit in daily timer mode. When your unit turns on in daily timer mode, press the SNOOZE button. The unit will automatically go back into standby mode and then turn itself on again 5 minutes later. The system will switch off automatically 1 hour later.

X-BASS feature

Press the X-BASS button on the top of the unit to turn the extra bass feature on in CD mode only. Press the X-BASS button again to turn it off.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Trouble Possible Cause Remedy
No power No power to the unit Ensure the mains lead is plugged into the mains outlet.
No sound Volume is set to minimum Turn up the volume.
CD not playing CD is dirty or scratched Clean or replace the CD.
Intermittent sound Poor connections Check and correct the range and correct connections.
Tuner not working FM aerial not extended Extend the FM aerial and ensure it is in the correct position and direction of the radio signals.
