Listening to the Radio

  1. Select RADIO mode using the FUNCTION switch.
  2. Select FM, AM, or LW band using the BAND switch.
  3. Turn the TUNING knob to select a station.
  4. Adjust VOLUME to desired level.
  5. For FM, extend and adjust the telescopic antenna. For AM/LW, direct the set.
  6. To turn off, set FUNCTION switch to OFF.

Playing a CD

  1. Select CD mode using the FUNCTION switch.
  2. Open the CD door.
  3. Place CD with the printed side facing up.
  4. Close the CD door.
  5. Press PLAY/PAUSE button.
  6. Adjust VOLUME.
  7. To stop playback, press STOP button.

Cassette Playback

  1. Select TAPE mode using the FUNCTION switch.
  2. Insert cassette tape.
  3. Press PLAY button.
  4. Adjust VOLUME.
  5. To stop, press STOP/EJECT.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Power Symptom Cause / Method of solution
No AC power.
No DC power.
• Is the power cord connected properly?
• Are the batteries properly inserted in the battery compartment?
• Are the batteries exhausted?
Tape Recorder Tape does not run when a button is pressed. • Is the Pause button pressed? If so, unlock and release.
Cassette cannot be inserted. • Is the cassette upside down?
No recording. • Are the accidental-erasure prevention tabs punched out? If so, cover the holes with plastic tape.
• Clean heads, capstan and pressure roller with a cleaning stick.
CD player Sound deterioration or irregular tape speed.
Slow tape speed or low volume.
• Are the batteries exhausted?
Disc is not played. • Is the disc loaded upside down?
• Is the disc scratched or warped?
• Is the pick-up lens dirty? If so, clean it with a cleaning stick.
Player does not operate correctly; sound is interrupted, noise occurs and tracks cannot be selected. • Is the disc scratched or otherwise flawed?
• Is the disc soiled?
Player does not operate normally when control buttons are pressed. • First press the Stop button then play the disc again.
