OPERATION

Radio Section: For FM, extend the telescopic aerial and adjust for optimal reception. For AM, use the built-in ferrite bar antenna. Switch to MONO if FM stereo signal is weak or noisy. Use BEAT CUT switch for AM to reduce interference noise.

Cassette Recorder Section: Use only NORMAL tapes. Use REWIND and FAST FORWARD buttons to control tape movement. PAUSE button temporarily halts playback/recording. STOP/EJECT button stops tape or opens cassette door. Features FULL AUTO STOP and VARIABLE MONITOR for recording.

CD Player Section: Use SKIP buttons to jump to next/previous tracks or select tracks before playback. During playback, press SKIP to move to the next/previous title or repeat the current title. SEARCH function available by holding SKIP. In STOP mode, select a track using SKIP buttons and press PLAY/PAUSE to start.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Symptom Cause
No AC power. • Is the power cord connected properly?
No DC power. • Are the batteries properly inserted in the battery compartment?
Tape does not run when a button is pressed. • Are the batteries exhausted?
Cassette cannot be inserted. • Is the cassette upside down?
No recording. • Is the Pause button pressed? If so, unlock and release.
• Are the accidental-erasure prevention tabs punched out? If so, cover the holes with plastic tape.
Deteriorated sound or irregular tape speed. • Clean heads, capstan and pressure roller with a cleaning stick.
Slow tape speed or low volume. • Are the batteries exhausted?
Disc is not played. • Is the disc loaded upside down?
• Is the disc scratched or warped?
• Is the pick-up lens dirty? If so, clean it with a cleaning stick.
Player does not operate correctly; sound is interrupted, noise occurs and tracks cannot be selected. • Is the disc scratched or otherwise flawed?
• Is the disc soiled?
Player does not operate normally when control buttons are pressed. • First press the Stop button then play disc again.
