Using the DA-1000

Before Use: Loosen the transit screw on the bottom of the player. Tighten it when transporting.

Disc Insertion: Press POWER switch. Press OPEN/CLOSE button to open the door. Insert disc with label facing you. Press OPEN/CLOSE to close.

Disc Play: Press POWER, OPEN/CLOSE to load disc, then PLAY to start. PAUSE temporarily halts playback, STOP ends playback.

Programming: Use PRGM button and number buttons (10, 1) to select tracks. Press PLAY to start programmed playback. CLEAR erases entries. CALL checks programmed tracks.

Special Functions: REPEAT plays entire disc or programmed tracks. SCANNER PLAY samples tracks. MEMORY STOP returns to a marked point. CALL button displays time/track info.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Trouble Cause Remedy
Indicator does not light even when power switch 1 is set ON. 1. Imperfect power plug contact. 1. Insert the power plug properly into the outlet.
Door does not open even when OPEN/CLOSE button 16 is pressed. 1. Power switch not ON. 2. Disc is rotating. 1. Switch on power. 2. Press STOP button 15 to stop disc rotating.
Door stops halfway when pressed manually. 1. By forcing the door closed, the door can no longer be opened and closed properly. 1. Press OPEN/CLOSE button 16 and open/close door properly.
Total track number is not displayed even when disc is loaded. 1. Disc has been loaded the wrong way round. 2. Disc is dirty. 3. Disc that does not comply with ratings is being used. 1. Re-insert disc. 2. Clean disc surface. 3. Replace disc.
No play even when PLAY button 12 is pressed. 1. Transit screw has not been loosened. 2. Disc is dirty. 3. Scratched or warped disc. 1. Loosen transit screw. 2. Clean disc surface. 3. Replace disc.
No sound 1. Pin cord not connected. 1. Connect player's output terminals and amplifier's input terminals with pin cord.
Distorted sound. 1. Improper connections with amplifier. 2. Amplifier's output is too high or clipped. 1. Connect player and amplifier properly. 2. Turn down amplifier's volume.
Certain parts of disc are not played properly. 1. Scratches or other defects on disc. 2. Dirty disc. 1. Press FF button ► to skip the parts. 2. Clean disc surfaces.
Proper operation stops while a button is being pressed. 1. Play position search operation no longer corresponds with button operation. 1. First press STOP button ■ and then resume play.
