  • Playback: Press OPEN/CLOSE to open the tray, place disc, then press PLAY/PAUSE or OPEN/CLOSE to close. Player remembers stop point for resume. Auto power-off after 30 minutes in stop mode.
  • Stopping Playback: Press STOP button.
  • Removing Disc: Press OPEN/CLOSE button.
  • Pausing Playback: Press PLAY/PAUSE or STEP button. Press PLAY/PAUSE again to resume.
  • Step Motion Playback: Press STEP button during playback for frame-by-frame advancement (no sound). Press PLAY/PAUSE to resume.
  • Slow Motion Playback: Press FWD or REV SEARCH during PAUSE or STEP mode (1/2, 1/4, 1/8 speed, no sound). Press PLAY/PAUSE to resume.
  • Search Functions: Use FWD/REV SEARCH buttons during PLAY mode to search by chapter/track at various speeds. Press PLAY/PAUSE to return to normal speed.
  • Skipping Tracks: Use NEXT SKIP/BACK SKIP to move between chapters (DVD) or tracks (VCD/CD).
  • Menu Navigation: Press MENU or TOP MENU buttons to access disc menus. Use direction buttons to select items.
  • Display Information: Press DISPLAY button for title, chapter, time, audio, and subtitle information.
  • Repeat Playback: Use REPEAT button for chapter, title, or disc repeat. Use A-B REPEAT to set a specific segment for repetition.
  • Program/Random Playback: Use MODE button to select PROGRAM or RANDOM for custom playback order.
  • Disc View (VCD): Access TRACK VIEW or INDEX VIEW for direct track selection.
  • Camera Angle: Use ANGLE button to select different camera angles on DVDs.
  • Volume Control: Use DISPLAY button twice to adjust Master Volume.
  • Bookmark Function: Use BOOKMARK button to mark scenes, recall them, or clear them.
  • Zoom Function: Use ZOOM button to magnify parts of the screen.
  • 3D Sound Function: Use 3D SOUND button to activate simulated surround sound.
  • Setup Menu: Press SETUP button to access settings for player language, disc menu language, audio language, subtitle language, parental control, audio options, and display options.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Action Page
No operations can be performed with remote. Check the batteries in the remote. May need replacing. Operate the remote control at a distance of no more than 20 feet. Remove batteries and hold down one or more buttons for several minutes to drain the microprocessor inside the remote to reset it. Reinstall batteries and try remote again. P4
Disc does not play. Ensure that the disc is installed with the label side facing up. Check the region number of the DVD. This player cannot play CD-ROMs, DVD-ROMs, CD-R, etc. Insert a DVD, a VIDEO-CD or a CD. P7
5.1 channel sound is not being reproduced. 5.1 channel sound is reproduced only when the following conditions are met. : 1)The DVD player is connected with the proper amplifier 2)The disc is recorded with 5.1 channel sound. Check whether the disc being played has the "Dolby 5.1 ch" mark on the outside. Check if your audio system is connected and working properly. P13- 14
The Ø icon appears on screen. The features or action cannot be completed at this time because: 1. The DVD's software restricts it. 2. The DVD's software doesn't support the feature (e.g., angles). 3. The feature is not available at the moment. P17- 22, P25- 29
Disc Menu doesn't appear. Check if the disc has a Menu. P24- 25
Playback mode differs from the Setup Menu selection. Some of the functions selected in the Setup Menu may not work properly if the disc is not encoded with the corresponding function. P29- 35
The screen ratio cannot be changed. The Screen Ratio is fixed on your DVDs. P34- 35
No audio. Make sure you have selected the correct Digital Output in the Audio Options Menu P33
Forgot parental level. Press power on from a cold start with no disc in the unit. Press the STOP and PLAY buttons simultaneously on the front panel for three seconds. The Select Menu Language display will appear. Select the desired language button. Press the SETUP button on the remote control to select the Parental Mode. The Parental Mode is now unlocked as indicated on the display. Press the DOWN button to select Parental. Press ENTER and the Password Check display will appear. Enter the default password of 7777. You can now set your rating level and change your password to a new number. P32
