Troubleshooting and error codes

Flow Chart Issue Troubleshooting Steps
NO.1 Power cannot be turned on. 1. Check fuse. If blown, see Flow Chart No.2. If normal, check for short-circuits on primary circuit components (Q1001, Q1003, T1001, D1001, D1002, D1004, D1005, D1011, C1003, C1005). 2. Check rectifying circuit of secondary circuit.
NO.2 Fuse blows out. 1. Check primary components for leaks or shorts. 2. Check rectifying diode or circuit on secondary side for shorts. 3. Replace fuse after servicing.
NO.3 Output voltage fluctuates. 1. Check if photo coupler circuit on secondary side operates normally. If not, check IC1001, D1012, D1024 and their periphery.
NO.4 Buzz sound near power circuit. Check IC1001, IC1006, D1015, D1048 and their periphery. Check for short-circuits on rectifying diodes and circuits in the secondary side (D1003, D1006, D1008, D1016, D1030, IC1002, Q1002, Q1004, Q1011, Q1050).
NO.5 -FL is not outputted. 1. Check if -24V is supplied to anode of D1003. If not, check D1003 and periphery. If yes, check for leaks or short-circuits on the loaded circuit.
NO.12 Fluorescent display tube does not light up. 1. Check 3.3V supply to IC2001 pins 6 & 24. 2. Check -24V to -28V supply to IC2001 pin 15. 3. Check 500kHz oscillation at IC2001 pin 26. 4. Check filament voltage between pins (1,2) and (34,35) and negative voltage. 5. Replace display tube if necessary.
NO.13 Key operation is not functioning. 1. Check key switch contact points and installation. 2. Check voltage change at IC2001 pins when pressing switches. 3. Replace IC2001 if necessary.
NO.14 No operation from remote control. 1. Check if operation is possible from DVD unit. 2. Check 5V supply to infrared remote control receiver (RM2001) pin 3. 3. Check 'L' pulse output from RM2001 pin 1 when activated. 4. Check 'L' pulse signal to CN1001 pin 22. 5. Replace DVD Main CBA.
NO.15 Disc tray cannot be opened/closed (using remote). 1. Check voltage of IC2001 pin 4 when pressing OPEN/CLOSE. If it becomes 75mV, refer to Flow Chart No.16. 2. If not, replace OPEN/CLOSE button (SW2005).
NO.16 Disc tray cannot be opened/closed. 1. Replace DVD Main CBA. If no improvement, original DVD Main CBA is poor. 2. Replace DVD Mecha.
NO.17 [No Disc] indicated (Focus error). 1. Replace DVD Main CBA. If no improvement, original DVD Main CBA is poor. 2. Replace DVD Mecha.
NO.18 [No Disc] indicated (Focus servo not functioning). 1. Replace DVD Main CBA. If no improvement, original DVD Main CBA is poor. 2. Replace DVD Mecha.
NO.19 [No Disc] indicated (Laser beam not lighting up). 1. Replace DVD Main CBA. If no improvement, original DVD Main CBA is poor. 2. Replace DVD Mecha.
NO.20 Picture and sound do not operate normally. 1. Replace DVD Main CBA. If no improvement, original DVD Main CBA is poor. 2. Replace DVD Mecha.
NO.21 Picture does not appear normally. 1. Set disc and playback. 2. Check video signals outputted to CN1601. 3. Check video signals inputted to IC1401. 4. Check video signals outputted from IC1401. 5. Check output terminals (S-OUT, VIDEO OUT). 6. Replace DVD Main CBA or DVD Mecha.
NO.22 Audio is not outputted. 1. Set disc and playback. 2. Check analog audio signals outputted to CN1601. 3. Check analog audio signals inputted to IC1201. 4. Check mute signal to CN1601. 5. Check analog audio signals inputted to IC1201. 6. Check audio signals outputted to the terminal. 7. Replace DVD Main CBA or DVD Mecha, or IC1201.
