  • Connecting Power Source: Use the provided battery or AC adapter/charger. Connect the DC cord to the camera/recorder and the AC adapter/charger to an electrical outlet.
  • Attaching Battery: Align the mark on the battery with the camera/recorder and slide it down until it locks.
  • Using AC Adapter/Charger: Plug the AC adapter/charger into an outlet and connect the DC cord to the camera/recorder. Note that the adapter cannot charge and power the unit simultaneously.
  • Using Car Battery: Connect the car battery cord to the camera/recorder and the cigarette lighter socket of the car. Ensure the car has a 12-volt negative ground system.
  • Checking Battery Level: The viewfinder will display a symbol indicating the battery charge. A flashing symbol indicates low battery.
  • Charging Battery: Plug the AC adapter/charger into an outlet, attach the battery, and ensure the DC cord is removed. The "CHARGE" light indicates charging.
  • Making a Sample Recording: Connect power, insert a cassette, set the power switch to "CAM", and press "REC/PAUSE" to start recording. Press again to pause or stop. Slide power to "VIDEO" to enter stop mode.

Troubleshooting and error codes

INSERTING OR REMOVING THE CASSETTE
Cassette holder cannot be opened when you slide “EJECT†buttonConnect the power source.

CAMERA RECORDING
Picture does not appear in the viewfinder.Remove the lens cap.
The camera/recorder cannot go into the recording mode, even when record start/stop button is pressed.Set "POWER" switch to "CAM".
The cassette has had the erase prevention tab removed. Stick a piece of cellophane tape over the erase prevention hole or select a different cassette.
Set "POWER" switch to "CAM" position.
Picture is out of focus.The camera/recorder is set to MACRO mode. Release the MACRO mode, and then focus on the object.
Auto-focus does not operate.Auto-focus does not operate if the wide angle or telephone lens is attached.
BATTERY CONDITION
The "�" indication in the electronic viewfinderTry another battery or charge the battery.
NO OPERATION IS ACCEPTED
Power is not turned on an no button operations are accepted.Remove the power source, and after about one minute, push the reset switch gently using a toothpick, etc. until you feel a click. The display will be reset. Then set the information again.
PLAYBACK OF PRE-RECORDED CASSETTE
"PLAY" button cannot be engaged.Set the power switch to “VIDEO†position.
No picture appears on television screen when “PLAY†button is pressed.Set the television to the camera/recorder channel (3 or 4) depending upon the selected channel in the RF channel select switch of RF output adapter. (TV is connect to the camera/recorder by using RF output adapter.)
Interference on playback picture.When you see the playback picture on yourTV, adjust fine tuning knob on television set to obtain best picture.
Picture bends at the top of the TV screen.TV receiver is older type. It needs to be modified to work properly with camera/recorder.
Color of your TV screen is too bright, too faint or change.Tape is damaged, try another cassette.
TV set has VIR circuit. Turn off during playback.
