Basic Operation:
- Powering Up: Connect the power source (battery or AC adapter).
- Attaching Battery: Align the mark on the battery with the camera/recorder and slide it down until it clicks.
- Using AC Adapter: Plug the adapter into an outlet and connect the DC cord to the camera/recorder.
- Inserting Cassette: Press STOP/EJECT, insert the cassette with the window facing you and the arrow towards the holder, then push it in until latched.
- Recording: Set POWER to "CAM", then press and hold the small button on the POWER switch and slide to "CAM". The POWER indicator will light, and the camera/recorder enters record/pause mode.
Troubleshooting and error codes

| The camera/recorder can not go into the recording mode, even when "REC/PAUSE" button is pressed. | The cassette has had the erase prevention tab removed. Stick a piece of cellophane tape over the erase prevention hole or select a different cassette. |
| Picture is out of focus. | Set "POWER" switch to "CAM" position. |
| Auto-focus does not operate. | Make sure that "FOCUS" does not appear in the viewfinder. If displayed, press FOCUS control (AUTO/MAN) buttons to erase it. Auto-focus does not operate if the wide angle or telephoto lens is attached. |
