Getting Started

  • Preparation: Attach the camera strap. Open the battery/memory card cover, insert batteries correctly, and insert an SD/SDHC memory card if desired. Close and secure the cover.
  • Initial Settings: Set the date and time, choose the language, and format the memory card or internal memory.

Capture Mode

  • Turn the camera ON/OFF.
  • Set the mode to Capture mode [].
  • Compose the image using the LCD monitor and zoom lever.
  • Press the shutter button halfway to focus and adjust exposure, then fully to capture the image.

Video Mode

  • Set the mode to Video mode [].
  • Compose the image and press the shutter button to start recording. Press again to stop.

Playback Mode

  • Set the mode to Playback mode [].
  • Use the playback buttons to navigate through images/videos.
  • Use the zoom lever to enlarge or return to normal magnification.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Symptom Cause Solutions / Corrective Actions
The power does not come on. The batteries are not inserted.
The batteries are exhausted.
Load the batteries correctly.
Replace with a new set of batteries.
The batteries or camera feels warm. Long period of continuous use of the camera or the flash. Press the shutter button all the way down.
Even if press the shutter button, the camera does not take a picture. The shutter button is not pressed all the way down.
The memory card does not have any free capacity.
The memory card is write-protected.
Insert a new memory card, or delete unwanted files.
Remove the write-protection.
Images do not appear on the LCD monitor. LCD monitor is dark. Adjust the brightness of the LCD monitor in the menu.
Although it is set to auto focus, it does not focus. The lens is dirty.
The distance to the subject is smaller than the effective range.
Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth or lens paper.
Get your subject within the effective focus range.
The contents on the memory card cannot be played back. You played back a memory card that was not formatted by this camera. Insert a memory card that was formatted on this camera.
Files cannot be deleted. The file is protected.
The memory card is write-protected.
Cancel protection.
Remove the write-protection.
The date and time are wrong. The correct date and time is not set. Set the correct date and time.
Cannot download images. The free space on the hard disk in your computer may be insufficient.
No power supply.
Check whether the hard disk has space for running Windows, and if the drive for loading image files has a capacity at least that of the memory card inserted in the camera.
Replace with a new set of batteries.
