Getting Started

  1. Power On/Off: Press the power switch to turn the camera on. Press it again to turn it off.
  2. Screen Language: Rotate the mode dial to Setup, turn on the camera, select "Language" in the Set-up1 menu, and choose your preferred language using the four-way controller.
  3. Date and Time: In the Set-up1 menu, select "Date & Time" and use the four-way controller to adjust the day, month, year, and time.
  4. Camera Strap: Attach the strap to the camera as shown in the illustration.
  5. Batteries: Ensure the camera is off, open the battery cover, insert 2 AA batteries (alkaline or Ni-MH rechargeable) in the correct orientation, and close the cover.
  6. SD Memory Card: Turn off the camera, open the battery/SD memory card cover, insert the SD card correctly, and close the cover. Format the card before first use.

Troubleshooting and error codes

* Memory is full.
* Rotate the mode dial to A, P, ☉, ☘, ☼, or ☛ mode.
* Transfer the desired files to your computer and then delete unnecessary files, or use a different memory card.
Flash does not fire. * Flash off is selected in flash mode.
* 10+2 sec. Self-timer is selected in self-timer mode.
* The [Capture Mode] is set to [Burst] or [AEB].
* The camera is in the ☛ (video) mode.
* Select a different flash mode.
* Select [AF] in the [Capture Mode].
* Switch the mode dial to another mode.
Continuous shooting is not possible. * The capacity of the built-in memory or SD memory card is full. * Insert SD memory card with available space or delete unwanted images.
Cannot transfer files over a USB connection. * USB cable is not connected securely.
* USB driver is not installed.
* Camera is turned off.
* Check all connections.
* Install the USB driver on your computer.
* Turn on the camera.
