  • Getting Started: Ensure the camera strap is attached, open the battery/memory card cover, and insert the battery correctly. An optional SD/SDHC memory card can be inserted to expand storage. Format the card before first use. Close the cover securely.
  • Charging the Battery: Insert the battery into the charger, connect the power cord to a wall outlet. The status LED indicates charging status (red for charging, green for complete). Charging time varies. Remove battery after charging.
  • Initial Settings: Set the date and time by toggling the mode button, accessing the menu, selecting Setup, then Date/Time. Adjust values using navigation buttons and confirm with the SET button. Choose language and format memory card through the Setup menu.
  • Capturing Images: Turn on the camera. Use the zoom lever to compose the image. Press the shutter button halfway to focus and adjust exposure, then fully to capture. The focus area frame turns green when in focus.
  • Video Mode: Toggle to video mode and press the shutter button to start recording. Press again to stop. Zoom is not available during video recording.
  • Playback Mode: Press the playback button to view images. Use navigation buttons to cycle through images. Zoom lever can enlarge images.
  • Transferring Files: Connect the camera to a computer using the USB cable. Select PC mode on the camera. Copy files from the camera's removable disk to your computer.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Even if I press the shutter button, the camera does not take a picture. The shutter button is not pressed all the way down.
The memory card does not have any free capacity.
The memory card is write-protected.
Insert a new memory card, or delete unwanted files.
Remove the write-protection.
Images do not appear on the LCD monitor. LCD monitor is dark.
The lens is dirty.
Adjust the brightness of the LCD monitor in the menu.
Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth or lens paper.
Although it is set to auto focus, it does not focus. The distance to the subject is smaller than the effective range. Get your subject within the effective focus range.
The contents on the memory card cannot be played back. You played back a memory card that was not formatted by this camera. Insert a memory card that was formatted on this camera.
Files cannot be deleted. The file is protected.
The memory card is write-protected.
Cancel protection.
Remove the write-protection.
Even when the camera's buttons are pressed, it does not operate. The battery is running low. Recharge the battery.
The date and time are wrong. The correct date and time is not set. Set the correct date and time.
Cannot download images. The free space on the hard disk in your computer may be insufficient.
No power supply.
Check whether the hard disk has space for running Windows, and if the drive for loading image files has a capacity at least that of the memory card inserted in the camera.
Recharge the battery.
