Warranty Information

Warranted for one year against defects in material or workmanship, provided the camera has not been abused.

Introduction to Operation: The Honeywell Pentax SP 500 is a 35mm single-lens reflex camera with a built-in light meter. It uses a highly sensitive Cadmium Sulphide sensor to measure light through the lens for accurate exposure readings. The camera features a rapid wind lever for film advance and shutter cocking, and a preview lever for depth-of-field checks. To operate:

  1. Load film by opening the back, inserting the cassette, drawing out the leader, and engaging the sprockets.
  2. Set the film speed (ASA) by lifting and rotating the outer ring of the shutter speed dial.
  3. Cock the rapid wind lever.
  4. Set the desired shutter speed on the dial.
  5. Compose and focus by looking through the viewfinder and adjusting the distance scale ring until the image is sharp.
  6. Turn on the light meter switch and adjust the diaphragm ring until the meter needle is centered for correct exposure.
  7. Release the shutter to take the picture.
  8. Rewind the film when finished by pressing the rewind release button and turning the crank.

Manual operation is also possible by turning the meter switch OFF.
