SPM Operation Summary

The SPM Single Point Monitor is designed for easy operation and maintenance, requiring less than three hours annually for routine tasks. Key operations include:

  • Switching On/Off: Use the main power switch (8). The display shows Gas Type, Alarm Levels, and Chemcassette® Type upon startup.
  • Loading Chemcassette®: Follow a step-by-step process involving opening the tape load lever, securing the cassette, threading the tape, and closing the lever.
  • Monitoring: The instrument monitors when the Chemcassette® is in place, the tape load lever is closed, and the power is on. The green system status LED indicates normal operation.
  • Simulating Gas Conditions: Two simulations are available: Gross Alarm (tests audible alarm, lamp, and relays) and Full Alarm (simulates various concentration levels).
  • Verifying System Response: A routine using an optical test card checks the operating condition of the SPM optical system.
