Step 1: Select Mounting Location

Choose a location that provides a clear line-of-sight, ideally at a height of 2.3m (7' 6") for maximum range (up to 16m x 22m). Avoid facing windows, direct sunlight, and proximity to moving machinery, fluorescent lights, or heating/cooling sources. This sensor is not designed for use in applications with pets.

Step 2: Open the Sensor

Turn the arrow to the unlock symbol, press the housing latch, and gently separate the front and rear housing.

Step 3: Mount the Sensor

Use the provided mounting holes (A for wall, B for corner) and 3.5 mm x 25 mm screws (not included) to secure the sensor.

Step 4: Sensor Components and Settings

Configure DIP switches for 'Look Down' functionality, LED behavior, and EOL settings for Alarm and Tamper circuits as per wiring requirements.

Step 5: Wire the Sensor

Connect wires (0.2-0.52mm²) to the terminal block, observing polarity. Refer to wiring details and examples on page 3. Pay attention to Tamper, Alarm, and Power connections.

Step 6: Walk Test the Sensor

After applying power, the sensor initializes. Walk through the detection area to test functionality, observing the LED. Walk test mode lasts for 10 minutes. The flashlight feature can be used to re-enable walk test mode for the first 24 hours after initial power-up.

Step 7: Detection Patterns

Review the Top View and Side View diagrams to understand the sensor's detection zones (A, B, C, D) and coverage areas.

Troubleshooting and error codes

NORMAL TROUBLE*
Alarm Relay Closed Open
Red LED Off Flashing

*TROUBLE CONDITIONS:

1 Self-Test Failure conditions:

  • PIR self-test failure: The sensor is disabled.
  • Temperature compensation failure: The temperature compensation is disabled.

Depending on the Trouble condition, take the following corrective actions:

  • Verify the power supply is sufficient (at least 9V at the sensor).
  • Cycle power to the sensor.
  • Walk test the sensor.

If the Trouble condition does not clear, replace the sensor.
