Troubleshooting and error codes

Issue Possible Solution
The computer is unable to start up Check AC outlet, use only approved AC adapter, ensure secure power connections.
The computer screen is blank Check if the computer is in Sleep state (press power button to exit). Ensure the computer screen is set to display. Use Fn+F4 to switch display modes.
Software is functioning abnormally Restart the computer by selecting Start > Shutdown > Restart.
The computer is on but not responding Press and hold the power button for at least 5 seconds. Disconnect external power and remove battery if necessary.
The computer is unusually warm Ensure vents are not blocked. Use on a hard, flat surface. Avoid soft surfaces or blocking airflow.
An external device is not working Turn on the device, check connections and power, ensure compatibility and updated drivers.
The wireless network connection is not working Check wireless device power, antenna obstructions, modem/router connections, and try reconnecting cables.
A disc does not play Close programs, log off internet, insert disc properly, clean disc, check for scratches, disable Sleep mode.
A movie is not visible on an external display Press Fn+F4 to switch displays. Configure monitor settings to make the external display primary.
The process of burning a disc does not begin, or it stops before completion Close all programs, turn off Sleep mode, use the correct disc type, insert properly, try a slower write speed.
