Operating the Tape Library
The Tape Library can be operated and managed through its Remote Management Interface (RMI) or the Operator Control Panel (OCP).
Remote Management Interface (RMI):
- Login: Access the RMI via a web browser to log in using your administrator credentials.
- Status Pane: View the current status of the library, drives, and media.
- Configuration: Adjust system, drive, network, and security settings.
- Operations: Perform actions such as moving media, cleaning drives, and updating inventory.
- Support: Access diagnostic tools, firmware upgrades, and download support tickets.
Operator Control Panel (OCP):
- Menu Navigation: Use the buttons to navigate through menus for status, configuration, and operations.
- Status Message Bar: Displays important information and alerts.
- Menu Bar: Provides access to various functions and settings.
Troubleshooting and error codes
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |

| Drive not detected | Parallel SCSI device not detected | Verify SCSI cabling and termination. Check SCSI ID configuration. |
| Attention LED is lit | Drive or library error | Consult the error logs via RMI or OCP for specific error codes and messages. |
| Media problems | Corrupted or unreadable tapes | Clean the tape drive. Try a different tape cartridge. Perform a diagnostic test on the drive. |
