Safety Precautions:

  • Disconnect AC power before servicing.
  • Be aware of shock hazards when the monitor is open.
  • Handle CRT with care, especially when discharging high voltage.
  • Maintain high voltage within rated limits to prevent X-ray emission.
  • Replace CRT with the same type as original.
  • Perform safety checks (lead dress, protective devices) before returning to user.
  • Conduct AC Leakage Current Check and ensure readings do not exceed 0.3 volts RMS.

Servicing Precautions:

  • Follow safety precautions printed on the monitor.
  • Always unplug AC power before removing/installing components.
  • Clamp lead wires before soldering when replacing parts.
  • Keep resistors away from the circuit board when replacing.
  • Keep wires away from high voltage/temperature components.
  • Connect test instrument ground lead first, remove last.
  • Perform Hi-Pot and Ground Continuity tests after reassembly.

Hi-Pot Test:

  • Test Equipment: Puncture test model PM5530 ADT or equivalent.
  • Test Setup: DC 2100 V, 3 seconds duration, 3 mA cutoff current.
  • Procedure: Unplug power, turn monitor ON, leave signal cable disconnected. Plug monitor power cord to tester. Turn on tester.
  • Failure: If indicator lamp lights or beeper beeps, the test fails.

Ground Continuity Test:

  • Test Equipment: AC low ohm tester TOS-6100 or equivalent.
  • Test Setup: 3 seconds duration, 25 A current limit, grounding resistance < 0.1 ohm.
  • Procedure: Plug monitor power cord to tester. Turn on monitor and tester. Press "Test".
  • Result: Green light means OK, Red light means fails. Digital display < 0.1 ohm.
