Getting Started
1. Attach the camera strap.
2. Insert batteries.
3. Insert SD/SDHC memory card.
4. Turn the camera on.
5. Set initial settings like language and date/time.
6. Select a mode (Scene or Playback).
7. Start taking photos or recording videos.
Understanding the LCD Screen
The LCD displays various settings and information for shooting and playback.
Key features:
- Record Mode: Shows current capture/scene mode.
- Flash: Controls flash settings.
- Zoom: Displays zoom level.
- Shots remaining: Indicates available shots.
- Battery: Shows battery level.
- Storage media: Indicates internal or SD card usage.
- Date stamp: Shows if date is enabled.
- AEB: Indicates Auto Exposure Bracketing status.
- Image Stabilizer: Shows if image stabilization is active.
- Saturation, Contrast, Histogram, ISO: Display various image settings.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Cause and/or Action
Camera does not turn on. One or both of the batteries may be exhausted. Replace the batteries.
Camera turns off automatically. Press any button except the Power button to power on the camera.
LCD turns blank. Press any button except the Power button to turn on the LCD.
Empty battery icon is displayed on the LCD, and then the camera turns off. One or both of the batteries may be exhausted. Replace the batteries.
LCD screen displays 'No images in memory'. The image file on the memory card. Image file format may not be supported.
LCD screen displays 'Not available for this file'. Function is only available for specific file types. File format is not supported.
LCD screen displays 'Memory full'. Memory card is full. Replace the memory card with a new one or delete unnecessary images.
LCD screen displays 'File locked' This file is locked, Unlock the file.
LCD screen displays 'Card locked'. The memory card is protected. Remove the card and slide the write-protect switch to it's unlock position.
LCD screen displays 'CARD HAS WRONG FORMAT'. The memory card is protected. Remove the card and slide the write-protect switch to it's unlock position.
LCD screen displays 'Copy error'. The memory card is protected. Remove the card and slide the write-protect switch to it's unlock position. The memory card is full. Replace card or delete unnecessary files.
The lens is extended and will NOT retract. Do not force the lens to go back. The type of the battery used may be incorrect or the battery power level is too low. Change the battery or charge the battery before using the camera.
