Getting Started

  • Camera Parts: Familiarize yourself with the camera's components (Shutter button, Video button, Viewfinder, etc.).
  • Setup: Attach the wrist strap, insert batteries and memory card, set date/time, and choose language.
  • Install Software: Install the HP Photo & Imaging software on your computer for transferring and managing photos.

Taking Pictures

  • Still Pictures: Frame your subject in the viewfinder or on the image display and press the Shutter button.
  • Video Clips: Press the Video button to start recording and press it again to stop.
  • Preview Mode: Use the image display to frame shots, adjust settings, and zoom.
  • Self-Timer: Use the self-timer for group shots or self-portraits.
  • Digital Zoom: Zoom in on your subject using the digital zoom function.
  • Flash: Select from Auto Flash, Red-eye Reduction, Flash On, or Flash Off.
  • Image Quality: Choose between Good, Better, and Best quality settings, affecting image size and storage.

Playback and Main Menu

  • Playback Mode: Review images and video clips, rotate, delete, magnify, and view thumbnails.
  • Main Menu: Access settings like Date & Time, USB Configuration, Language, and more.

HP Instant Share

  • Select images to print or e-mail directly from the camera.

Unloading, Printing, and Displaying Images

  • Transfer images to a computer, print directly on HP printers, or display on a TV.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Camera will not turn on. Batteries are dead or inserted incorrectly. Insert new batteries or reinsert batteries correctly. Ensure batteries are charged if rechargeable.
Image quality is poor. Incorrect image quality setting. Select a higher image quality setting (Better or Best).
Cannot record video clips. Memory card is full or not inserted. Delete unwanted files or insert a memory card.
