1. Attach Wrist Strap: Thread the wrist strap through the mount on the camera.
2. Install Batteries: Open the battery door, insert AA batteries (alkaline, lithium, or NiMH), and close the door.
3. Turn On Camera: Slide the lens cover open. The power light turns green.
4. Choose Language: Use the controller buttons to select a language and press OK.
5. Set Region: Select your continent from the list and press OK.
6. Set Date & Time: Adjust the date and time format, date, and time using the buttons and press Menu to confirm.
7. Install Memory Card (Optional): Turn off the camera, open the door, insert the card, and close the door. Format the card if needed.
8. Take a Still Picture: Press the Live View button, frame your shot, press the shutter halfway to focus, then fully to take the picture.
9. Record a Video Clip: Press the Live View button, frame your shot, press the Video button to start and stop recording.
10. Review Images/Clips: Press the Playback button and use the buttons to scroll through your content.
11. Install Software: Insert the software CD and follow on-screen instructions for Windows or Macintosh.
12. Transfer Images: Connect the camera via USB or dock, turn it on, and follow on-screen prompts to transfer images.
13. Set Up HP Instant Share Destinations: Connect the camera, navigate to the HP Instant Share Menu, select Setup, and follow prompts to configure online destinations.
