1. Attach the Wrist Strap: Secure the wrist strap to the designated mount on the camera. 2. Install the Batteries: Open the battery door, insert AA batteries correctly, and close the door. 3. Choose the Language: Power on the camera, and select your preferred language using the controller buttons. 4. Set the Region: Choose your continent for correct date/time formats and video signal settings. 5. Set the Date and Time: Adjust the date, time, and format using the controller buttons. 6. Install and Format a Memory Card (Optional): Insert a memory card into the slot and format it if it's new or to prevent data corruption. 7. Take a Still Picture: Frame your subject in the viewfinder, press the shutter halfway to focus, then fully to capture the image. 8. Record a Video Clip: Frame your subject, press the Video button to start recording, and press it again to stop. 9. Review Images and Video Clips: Press the Playback button to view photos and videos, using the arrow buttons to navigate. 10. Install the Software: Insert the HP Image Zone CD and follow on-screen instructions for installation. 11. Transfer Images to a Computer: Connect the camera via USB or dock and follow software instructions to transfer images. 12. Set Up HP Instant Share Destinations (Optional): Connect the camera to set up destinations for automatic image sharing.
