Getting Started

Attaching the Wrist Strap: Follow the instructions to attach the wrist strap to your camera by threading the strap loops through the eyelet.

Inserting the Battery: Ensure the camera is off. Open the battery compartment, insert the NP45 Lithium-ion battery correctly, and close the compartment.

Inserting an SD/SDHC Memory Card: Open the SD card compartment, insert the card with metallic contacts facing forward, push until it clicks, and close the compartment.

Charging the Battery: The included battery is not fully charged. Insert it into the charger, connect the charger to the adapter, and plug into a power outlet. Charge for at least 2.5 hours initially, or until the indicator light turns green.

Camera Views

Familiarize yourself with the front, back, top, bottom, and side views of the camera, identifying key buttons and components like the lens, flash, microphone, LCD screen, and various control buttons.

Initial Settings

Upon first turning on the camera, you will be prompted to set the language and date/time.

Setting the Language: Use the DISP button to navigate, select a language, and press SET to confirm.

Using Setup Menu: Access the Setup menu by pressing the MENU button (M). Use the navigation controls to move between tabs and menu items, then press SET to confirm selections.

Modes

The camera has three modes: Shooting mode (for photos and audio), Video Record mode (for videos), and Playback mode (for viewing and editing media).

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Cause and/or Action
Camera does not turn on. The battery may be exhausted. Charge or replace the battery.
Camera turns off automatically. Press any button except the Power button to turn on the camera.
LCD turns blank. Press any button except the Power button to turn on the LCD.
Empty battery icon is displayed on the LCD, and then the camera turns off. Battery is exhausted, please replace or recharge.
LCD screen displays 'No images in memory'. The image file on the memory card. Image file format may not be supported.
LCD screen displays 'Not available for this file'. Function is only available for specific file types. File format is not supported.
LCD screen displays 'Memory full'. Memory card is full. Replace the memory card with a new one or delete unnecessary images.
LCD screen displays 'File locked' This file is locked. Unlock the file.
LCD screen displays 'Card locked'. The memory card is protected. Remove the card and slide the write-protect switch to it's unlock position.
LCD screen displays 'CARD HAS WRONG FORMAT'. The memory card is protected. Remove the card and slide the write-protect switch to it's unlock position.
LCD screen displays 'Copy error'. The memory card is protected. Remove the card and slide the write-protect switch to it's unlock position. The memory card is full. Replace card or delete unnecessary files.
The lens is extended and will NOT retract. Do not force the lens to go back. The type of the battery used may be incorrect or the battery power level is too low. Change the battery or charge the battery before using the camera.
