Connecting to a Netware 3.12 Server

Requirements: HP Vectra with DOS and MS-Windows for Workgroups 3.11 installed, 3COM Etherlink 3C509-B ethernet card, DOS/Windows 3.11 media, Novell Netware server 3.12, and Netware client.

Procedure: Install the 3COM card, boot to DOS, run 3C5X9CFG.EXE to configure NIC settings (I/O Base Address 300, IRQ 10). Insert Netware client disk and run INSTALL.EXE. Follow prompts for installation path (C:\NWCLIENT, C:\WINDOWS). Restart the machine. Open Network Setup in Windows and add Novell Netware client.

Connecting to a Netware 4.11 Server

Requirements: Similar to Netware 3.12, but with Netware server 4.11.

Procedure: Mostly identical to Netware 3.12 setup, ensuring correct client and server versions.

Connecting to a Windows NT Server 3.51

Requirements: HP Vectra with DOS/MS-Windows for Workgroups 3.11, 3COM Etherlink 3C509-B card, Windows NT Server 3.51 with specific protocols.

Procedure: Install 3COM card, boot to DOS, configure NIC using 3C5X9CFG.EXE. In Windows, open Network Setup, add adapter, provide path to drivers. Select protocols and identify computer. Restart.

Connecting to a Windows NT Server 4.0

Requirements: HP Vectra with Windows NT Workstation 4.0 SP3, 3COM Etherlink 3C509-B card, Windows NT Workstation/Server 4.0 media.

Procedure: Install 3COM card, boot to DOS, configure NIC. In Windows NT Workstation, open Network Properties, add adapter from disk. Configure protocols, identify computer. Restart.
