The power supply can be operated as a single unit, in parallel, or in series. The output can be floated up to 300 volts off ground.
With no load connected, adjust VOLTAGE controls for desired output. For current limit check, connect an external ammeter, turn VOLTAGE controls clockwise, and observe reading. The current limit is factory adjusted.
The current limit can be adjusted via resistor R50. Range varies by model (e.g., 6215A: 300-540mA). Performance may not meet specifications if current limit is set too low.
Use separate wires for each load to minimize coupling. Keep connecting wires short and twisted or shielded. For remote distribution, use twisted or shielded wires.
| Symptom | Probable Cause |
|---|---|
| High or Low Output Voltage | |
| No Output Voltage | Open fuse, defective power cable, no input power, open connections, charred components, faulty components. |
| Low Output Voltage | Faulty regulator, driver, or error amplifier components; incorrect adjustments. |
| High Output Voltage (without load) | Faulty differential amplifier stage, programming resistors, or reference regulator. |
| Current Limit Issues | |
| Current Limit not engaging | Faulty current sampling resistor, current limit amplifier, or feedback components. |
| Current Limit engaging too early | Incorrect adjustment of R50, or a faulty component in the current limiting circuit. |
