Getting to know your phone

Your HUAWEI Ascend P6 smartphone has several external features. These include the noise reduction microphone, proximity sensor, status indicator, micro USB port, earpiece, front camera, power button, volume button, microSD card tray, and micro-SIM card tray. The screen is the main display, and there's a headset jack and a microphone at the bottom.

Installing the Micro-SIM and microSD cards

To install a SIM or microSD card, ensure the phone is powered off. Use the provided eject tool, found in the headset jack, to open the card tray. Insert the SIM card into the tray, ensuring it's flush, and slide the tray back into the slot. To power on the phone, press and hold the power button.

Charging the battery

Charge your Ascend P6 using the provided charger or a USB cable connected to another powered device. Connect the micro USB end of the cable to the slot on the top edge of the phone. The battery is not user-removable.

Using the buttons

Touch controls allow you to return to the previous screen, exit applications, or go to the home screen. You can also view recently used applications. The power button turns the screen on/off. Holding it for 10 seconds or more restarts the phone. Pressing the power and volume down buttons simultaneously takes a screenshot.
