Starting the engine:

  1. Ensure the parking brake is applied and the PTO is disengaged.
  2. Sit on the seat.
  3. Turn the ignition key to the START position (A).
  4. Release the key to the RUN position (B) once the engine starts.
  5. If the engine is cold, use the choke control.

Operating the product:

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Disengage the parking brake.
  3. Push the control levers forward to move forward; pull rearward to move backward. Speed is controlled by lever position.
  4. Engage the PTO button to start the blades.
  5. Steer by adjusting the control levers independently.

Stopping the engine:

  1. Move control levers to neutral.
  2. Engage the parking brake.
  3. Disengage the PTO.
  4. Turn the ignition key to the STOP position (D).

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Cause
Engine does not start. The drive of the blades is engaged. The control levers are not locked in the outer position. The battery is too weak. There is dirt in the carburetor or the fuel line. The fuel shut-off valve is closed or in the incorrect position. The fuel filter or fuel line is clogged. The ignition system is damaged.
The starter motor does not turn the engine over. The battery is too weak. The connection at the cable connectors on the battery terminals is bad. A fuse is blown.
The engine does not run smoothly. The OPC does not operate correctly. The carburetor is incorrectly set. The fuel filter or fuel jet is clogged. The throttle lever is in Cold Weather Start position. The check valve on the fuel tank cap is clogged. The fuel tank is almost empty. The spark plug is damaged. Incorrect fuel mixture or fuel type. There is water in the fuel.
The engine apparently has no power. The air filter is clogged. The spark plug is damaged. The carburetor is incorrectly set. There is air in the hydraulic system.
There is vibration in the product. The blades are loose. One or more of the blades are not balanced. The engine is loose.
The engine becomes too hot. The air filter or the cooling fins are clogged. There is overload in the engine. The airflow around the engine is not sufficient. The engine speed regulator is damaged. The oil level is too low. There is dirt in the fuel line. The spark plug is damaged.
The battery does not charge. The connection at the cable connectors on the battery terminals is bad. The charging cable is disconnected.
The product moves slowly, with irregular speed or not at all. The bypass linkages are engaged. The drive belt on the transmission is loose or damaged. There is air in the hydraulic system.
The drive of the blades do not engage. The drive belt on the mower deck is loose. The electromagnetic coupling contact is loose. The drive of the blade is damaged or loose from the cable connectors. A fuse is blown.
The transaxle leaks oil. The seals, housing or gaskets are damaged. There is air in the hydraulic system.
The cutting result is unsatisfactory. The tire pressure is different on the right and left sides. The blades are damaged. The suspension of the cutting deck is not level. The blades are blunt. The product is operated at too high forward or rearward speed. The grass is long. There is grass blockage in the cutting deck.
