Operation Summary

Powering On/Off:

  • Press the POWER button to switch the unit ON or OFF.
  • When switched ON, the unit operates in CD changer mode.
  • The POWER indicator is green when ON (PC-XC50) or red when STANDBY (PC-XC50). For PC-XC30, the red indicator lights when OFF, and goes out when ON.

COMPU PLAY (AC power only):

  • When the unit is in STANDBY, pressing a source button (CD, Tape, Tuner) powers on the unit and starts playback/selection from that source.

CD Changer Operations:

  • Loading Discs: Power ON, set to CD mode, select DISC CONTROL button, open tray, load disc label-side up, close tray. Repeat for other discs.
  • Unloading Discs: Select DISC CONTROL button, open tray, unload disc.
  • Playback: Press DISC CONTROL button to select disc, then PLAY/PAUSE or CONTINUE for playback.
  • Skip/Search: Use dedicated buttons to skip tracks or search within a track.
  • Programmed Playback: Up to 20 tunes can be programmed in a desired order.
  • Repeat/Random Play: Options for single tune, all tunes, or random playback.
  • EXTRA-CD: Listen to a single CD without using the changer.

Cassette Tape Operations:

  • Loading: Press STOP/EJECT, load cassette, close holder.
  • Playback: Press PLAY button.
  • Recording: Press REC and PLAY together.
  • Dubbing (Synchro Start): Copy from Deck B to Deck A, either normal or high-speed.

Radio Reception:

  • Select TUNER/BAND, choose band (FM/AM), then tune using UP/DOWN buttons, seek tuning, or AUTO PRESET.
  • Preset stations can be stored for quick access.

Clock/Timer Adjustment:

  • Set the current time using CLOCK SET and UP/DOWN buttons, then ENTER.
  • Set timer start and stop times for recording or playback.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Symptom Possible Cause Remedy
No power AC power cord is not plugged in. Plug in AC power cord.
No sound Volume is set to minimum. Increase volume.
CD does not play Disc is dirty or scratched. Clean the disc or try another disc.
Cassette tape does not play Tape is not loaded correctly. Load tape properly.
Radio reception is poor Antenna is not extended or positioned correctly. Extend and adjust antenna.
