Operation Summary

  • Power On/Off: Use the STANDBY/ON button on the unit or remote. For complete power off, unplug the AC cord.
  • Clock Setting: Press STANDBY/ON to turn unit off, then press and hold PROGRAM/CLOCK SET. Adjust hours and minutes using arrow buttons and PROGRAM/CLOCK SET.
  • Volume Control: Turn the VOLUME knob clockwise to increase or counterclockwise to decrease. Use VOLUME +/- on remote.
  • Sound Modes: Press HBS/PRESET EQ to cycle through POP, JAZZ, FLAT, CLASSIC, ROCK.
  • CD Playback: Press CD/RANDOM to enter CD mode. Open disc door, load CD, close door. Press PLAY/PAUSE to play.
  • Tape Playback: Press TAPE to enter tape mode. Load cassette, close holder. Press PLAY to start.
  • Radio Reception: Press BAND/TUNER to enter tuner mode. Select FM or AM. Use seek buttons or preset stations.
  • Recording: Prepare source (radio or CD), load cassette, press REC.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Power cannot be turned on. The power cord is unplugged. Connect the power cord.
When PLAY ◄ is pressed, tape does not move. PAUSE II is pressed. Press PAUSE II again to release it.
Playback sound is at a very low level. Batteries are run down.

REC does not function. The safety tabs of the cassette have been broken off. Reseal the slots with adhesive tape.
