Basic operations

The basic operations for this system are as follows.

To turn the system power supply ON and OFF (standby)

From the remote control: Press AUDIO / to turn power on. The STANDBY lamp goes off. Press AUDIO / again to turn power off (standby). The STANDBY lamp is lit.

On the center unit: Press / to turn power on. The STANDBY lamp goes off. Press again to turn power off (standby). The STANDBY lamp is lit.

To turn TV power ON and OFF

From the remote control: Press TV / to turn power on. Press TV / again to turn power off.

Adjusting volume [VOLUME]

The volume level can be adjusted within the range of "0" (minimum) to "80" (maximum).

From the remote control: Press VOLUME + or -.

On the center unit: Press VOLUME +/-.

Sub-woofer volume control and phase setting

Use the VOLUME knob and PHASE button at the rear of the powered sub-woofer.

Muting the sound [MUTING]

From the remote control only: Press MUTING to mute the sound through all speakers connected. Press MUTING again to restore the sound.

Selecting the source to play

From the remote control: Press one of the source selecting buttons (DVD, FM/AM, AUX).

On the center unit: Press SOURCE until the desired source name appears.

Troubleshooting and error codes

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION
Power does not come on. The power cord. Insert the plug into the socket.
The power cord has been pulled out of the AC outlet. Press the on the center unit to switch power OFF, and then press it again to switch power ON.
Power is not supplied to the powered sub-woofer The system cable is not connected. Check the connection.
The remote control does not work. It is too far from the center unit, or is not facing the center unit. Avoid any obstacles within approximately 5 m of the detector on the remote control.
There is something obstructing the remote sensor.
The battery is flat. Replace the battery.
The battery has been inserted the wrong way round (+/-). Insert the battery correctly.
Sunlight is falling directly on the detector. Shade the remote control from direct sunlight.
The remote control does not work as expected. The entered manufacturer's code number is incorrect. Enter the correct code number.
The remote control mode selector position is incorrect. Set it to the correct position. Normally, it should be set to "DVD" unless you use the RDS (Radio Data System) for receiving FM stations.
No sound. The system cable is not connected. Check the connection.
The speaker cord is not connected. Check the connection.
There is a short in the speaker cord. Reconnect the speaker cord and press on the center unit to restart the system.
The powered sub-woofer power supply is off. Insert the plug firmly into the socket and press on the center unit to switch power off, and then press it again to switch power on.
Sound is emitted from only one speaker. The audio cord is not connected properly. Connect the cord properly.
An incorrect source has been selected. Select the correct source.
Muting is on. Press MUTING to cancel mute.
The speaker cord is not connected correctly. Connect the cord properly.
Left-right balance is incorrect. Adjust balance.
No video. The video cord is not connected properly. Connect the cord properly.
TV input selection is incorrect. Select the correct input.
Cannot play a disc. A non-PAL disc has been inserted. Replace the disc.
The unit and disc region numbers (local numbers) are incompatible.
Video and audio are distorted. The disc is dirty. Clean the disc.
A video deck is connected between the center unit and the TV. Connect the center unit and TV directly.
The edge is missing on the video image. Initial setup (monitor type) was incorrect. Run through initial setup again correctly.
The TV has been set up incorrectly. Set up the TV correctly.
Continuous static during FM broadcasts. The received signal is too weak. Connect an external FM antenna, or contact your dealer.
The station is too far away. Select another station.
The antenna is not connected correctly. Check the connection.
Lightning or electronic noise interferes with operation of the microcomputer. Switch power off, and remove and re-insert the power plug in the socket.
Unit does not work correctly. Immediately after beginning to heat the room, the unit was moved to a cold location causing condensation to form inside. Switch power off and leave the unit a few hours before switching power on again.
