Turning On the Power

Press the play button (CD ►/II, TAPE ◄) or source selecting button (FM/AM, MD/AUX) to automatically turn on and start playback. Press / (STANDBY/ON) to turn on the unit; the green lamp lights. Press again to turn off (standby); the red lamp lights. Unplug the AC power cord to switch off completely.

Setting the Clock

When the AC power cord is plugged in, the CLOCK indicator flashes. Press and hold CLOCK for over 2 seconds to enter setting mode. Use or to adjust the hour, then press CLOCK. Use or to adjust the minute, then press CLOCK. The CLOCK indicator stays lit.

Selecting Sources and Starting Play

Press CD ►/II for CDs, TAPE ◄ for tapes, FM/AM for radio, or MD/AUX for external equipment.

Adjusting the Volume

While the unit is on, adjust volume using VOLUME +/- on the remote or by turning the VOLUME knob on the unit.

Reinforcing Bass Sound

Press AHB PRO to select AHB 1 or AHB 2 for enhanced bass at low volume. Press again until AHB OFF to cancel.

Selecting Sound Modes

Press SOUND MODE on the remote (or SOUND on the unit) to cycle through ROCK, POP, JAZZ, CLASSIC, or FLAT modes for playback sound.

Listening to FM/AM

Press FM/AM to tune to the last station. Press and hold ►►| or ◄◄ to search for stations. Use AUTO PRESET to automatically store stations or manual presetting for specific stations. Tune to a preset station using MULTI KEY >/< and SET.

Receiving FM Stations with RDS

RDS provides station names (PS), program types (PTY), and text messages (RT). Press DISPLAY MODE to cycle through RDS information. Use PTY/EON for PTY Search to find programs by type and Enhanced Other Networks function (TA, NEWS, INFO) to temporarily switch to desired program types.

Playing Back CDs

Press CD ►/II to play. Press CD ►/II to pause, and again to resume. Use MULTI KEY >/< to skip tracks, or hold ►►|/◄◄ to fast-forward/rewind.

Programming CD Playback

Press PROG, then use MULTI KEY >/< to select track numbers and SET to add them. Up to 20 tracks can be programmed. Press CD ►/II to play the programmed sequence. Press before or after playing to exit Program play mode.

Playing at Random

Press RANDOM before or during play. Tracks play in a random order. Press RANDOM again to exit.

Repeating Tracks

Press REPEAT to cycle through repeat modes: Cancelled, Repeat one track (G), Repeat all tracks (GALL), or repeat all in program/random. Press REPEAT repeatedly to cancel.

Prohibiting Disc Ejection

Hold / (STANDBY/ON) while the unit is on and the tray is closed to lock. "LOCKED" appears. Hold again to unlock. "UNLOCKED" appears.

Playing Back Tapes

Press for cassette deck to open. Insert tape, close holder, then press TAPE ◄►. The tape direction indicator shows the side playing. Press TAPE ◄► to change direction. Press REV.MODE to select playback sides (one side, continuous, or stop after both sides).

Recording

Insert a recordable cassette. Check tape direction. Play source (FM, AM, AUX, CD). Press REC. The REC indicator lights up. Press to stop recording. Press for cassette deck to eject.

CD Direct Recording

Insert cassette, place CD, then press REC. Everything from the CD is recorded. Press to stop.

One Track Recording

Insert cassette. Play a CD track you wish to record. Press REC to record that track. Repeat for other tracks.

Using Timers

Set clock first. Press and hold TIMER for >3 sec to enter timer setting. Set on-time, off-time, timer mode (Daily/Recording), source, and volume. Press TIMER to complete. Press / (STANDBY/ON) to turn off if unit was on.

Using Sleep Timer

Press SLEEP on remote to set shut-off time (10-120 min). Press SLEEP again to check remaining time or change. Press SLEEP repeatedly until indicator goes off to cancel.

Troubleshooting and error codes
