- Charging the Battery: Close LCD, open battery cover, insert battery, connect AC adapter to camera and outlet.
- Inserting the SD Card: Turn off unit, open cover, insert SD card.
- Using Icons/Thumbnails: Tap buttons/thumbnails or drag to select.
- Recording Files: Open LCD, open lens cover, select recording mode (Video/Still), press REC button to start/stop.
- Changing Menu Settings: Tap MENU, tap desired selection.
- Playback: Open LCD, select playback mode, press button for Video/Still, tap thumbnail to play.
- Playback on TV: Connect with HDMI or AV cable, turn on camera/TV, select input, start playback.
- Backup to Computer: Use JVC software to copy videos to PC.
- Make a Disc: Use JVC software to create AVCHD discs.
- Upload to YouTube™: Use JVC software to upload videos.
- Transfer to iTunes: Use JVC software to transfer videos.
Troubleshooting and error codes

| Unit does not turn on. | Battery is not inserted or is depleted. | Insert the battery pack correctly. Charge the battery pack. |
